Our Goncalo Alves, commonly known as Tigerwood, is an incredibly distinctive lumber species. Its golden-brown to deep red-brown hues are interspersed with blackish-brown streaks, creating the tiger-like streaks that give it its name. It’s harvested in Central and South America and is an ideal species for millwork projects, decks, boardwalks, and other outdoor projects, due to its density, strength, durability, and resistance to moisture. Projects utilizing Tigerwood can have a lifespan of 25+ years.
