Cumaru, grown in northern South America, is known as a strong, hard, and very attractive wood species, with medium to dark brown coloring, sometimes with streaks of yellow or green brown. It has an interlocked grain and medium texture, and excellent durability and weathering properties, making it very durable to decay. Cumaru is a beautiful and long-lasting lumber for outdoor projects like decks, boardwalks, and exterior siding.  It is also commonly used for flooring.
