After this 1980's home in Sandy Springs, GA was purchased, renovations quickly began. Starting with the exterior, the majority of the home was power washed and painted a striking charcoal color. The backyard deck received a major overhaul with the construction of a giant Cumaru Porch. Using different patterns and transition boards was a great way to segment the expansive outdoor space. The Cumaru porch was deliverd by our retail arm TimberTown Atlanta.
ABOUT CUMARU
Cumaru is a South American hardwood prized for its exceptional strength, natural durability, and rich appearance. Often called Brazilian Teak, it features golden to reddish-brown tones and distinctive grain patterns that bring warmth and character to outdoor spaces. Its density and natural resistance to rot, decay, and insects make Cumaru a popular choice for decking and other demanding exterior applications. Left unfinished, it weathers to a silver-gray patina, while periodic application of an appropriate finish helps preserve its original color. For homeowners, builders, and architects seeking lasting performance and the beauty of real wood, Cumaru offers an appealing combination of durability and value.
