Overseas Hardwoods Company Moves Into Former BHGE/LI Building in Lufkin, TX with Plans to Expand Millwork Division.

In a press release on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 Bob Samford – Director of Economic Development for the City of Lufkin – announced that OHC will be moving into a vacant Lufkin Industries property owned by Baker Hughes/GE and expanding it’s millwork division.

Overseas Hardwoods Company (OHC) is pleased to announce the company will open a facility in Lufkin, Texas. OHC recently completed the acquisition of Angelina Hardwood and plans to expand OHC products lines at the Lufkin location. OHC produces the most consistent and reliable products available to the transportation, outdoor living, millwork and marine industries.

“Overseas Hardwoods Company is a major importer and supplier of lumber products. We employ talented individuals who are well paid and will manufacture and ship products timely. Everyone at OHC is excited about the opportunities that the Lufkin location offers” according to Lee Robinson, Jr, President of OHC. “I would like to thank Tim Stacy, General Manager of Lufkin Industries, and his team for their professionalism and perseverance in bringing this project’s location to fruition. I also want to thank the corporate members of the BHGE team outside of the Lufkin area that stepped in to help expedite this process and move it forward to get us where we are today”.

Lufkin Mayor Bob Brown added “This is a great day for Lufkin. The building Overseas Hardwoods will be occupying was once closed and mothballed and to see a family owned company from Alabama choose to be in Lufkin with the possibility of future expansion at the facility is wonderful news.”

OHC began operations in 1967 to import high performance lumber products for the transportation industry. The Robinson family has been in the lumber business since 1917. Today, OHC continues to be a family owned company with 90 employees. OHC has operations in Alabama, Texas, Illinois, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
