THERMORY CLAD CUSTOM HOME - EAST NASHVILLE, TN
By Black Chandelier Properties
This East Nashville home is a strong example of what happens when material selection and execution are fully aligned.
Thermory Knotty Pine is used across the exterior, from vertical cladding to soffit to decking, creating a consistent envelope that works from both a design and build standpoint. The vertical wood siding defines the structure, while the soffit and curved entry bring warmth and depth that standard exterior packages just don’t deliver.
The choice of Thermory Knotty Pine is what makes this project stand out. Instead of a clear, uniform grade, the natural knots introduce movement and variation across the facade. With Thermory’s thermal modification process, that character comes without the typical concerns of traditional pine. The result is a stable, durable wood exterior that holds up across multiple applications while still feeling natural and lived-in.
Built by Black Chandelier Properties, designed by Ryan Thewes, the execution matches the material. Transitions are tight, lines stay consistent, and the design doesn’t fight the product. They leaned into it and let the wood do the work.
The material was factory finished through our ProCoating® process using CUTEK Clear before arriving on site, helping streamline installation while allowing the wood to naturally evolve over time. About a year in, the color is already beginning to soften, moving toward the weathered patina Thermory is known for.
