Aromatic Cedar is a domestic species grown in Eastern North America. Heartwood tends to be reddish or violet-brown and has a straight grain with knots. It is resistant to decay and insects. It is easy to work with and is typically used for furniture building and because of its insect-repellant scent, it is great to be used for fence posts. It is also often used in closets and chests to repel insects.
