RLTŪ Road Report
Title: Maintenance Manager Business: Jeffrey Steel Location: Mobile, AL Type of business and market: Major steel distributor in the Southeast United States. Deliver 95% of products with their own equipment. Key transportation objective: Deliver on time. Customers are construction sites that can't have workers standing around waiting for steel. Began using RLT: 1995 Most Important benefit: Safety for our employees, our customers' employees and motorists on the road. Results in their own words: We have been using RLT for three years now. It has cut way down on the damage to floors. Conventional floors have dozens of board ends. Wear damage is usually at these board ends. The boards get weak there. That's where we find most of the holes. RLT is one piece from front to back. The solid pieces are much stronger. There are no interior board ends. The places where fatigue, stress and breakage occur are eliminated. Interior board ends start popping up in conventional floors within two or three years. With no interior board ends, RLT lasts longer. We haven't made any repairs to RLT flooring since we began using it. Now we use only RLT when we replace floors. Besides saving money on maintenance, we save money on floor installations. Old style conventional floors cost $2,000 to $3,000 to install. RLT costs $1,500. Whenever I have to replace a floor now, I strictly use RLT kits, we can put on the flooring in an eight hour shift. The flooring will last longer without all your joints in there. I see no reason why it won't outdistance the regular floor two to one. Double the life.
