Title:

Business: Great Dane, Inc.

Location: Memphis, TN

Type of business and market: Flatbed trailer manufacturer serving carriers, manufacturers and distributors across North America

Key transportation objective:

Began using RLT:

Most Important benefit: Longer-lasting, stronger trailers for our customers

Results in their own words: At Great Dane we think we build the highest quality flatbeds. We use the best materials available. Typically, Great Dane will try to please customers with whatever specifications they want. We are constantly on the look out for  better materials.

Our standard floor is RLTŪ. We feel it is a superior floor for strength and has a lower maintenance requirement than other floors. We offer it at no extra charge.

RLT has no interior board ends. Its full trailer length planks add rigidity to the trailer and eliminate sources of potential maintenance problems. When we went to RLT, we eliminated 56 interior board ends and 156 floor screws used to secure them. By doing this, we eliminated the possibility of the board ends cracking where they are attached to the cross members. That means we eliminated 156 potential sources of maintenance problems. From our perspective, it means we can deliver trailers with far less sources of maintenance problems. That's good for our customers.

Great Dane likes to use the highest quality components in our trailers. RLT is one of these high quality components. RLT helps our customers reduce their maintenance costs and keep their trailers on the road where they make money. It meets the demands of the road.
